Yes, I coloured it red myself. I've coloured my other icons too, but not changed the hue as much. I desaturated them and things like that. Changed contrast, colour levels etc.I'm fairly pleased with this one. I used a filter as well, to get the textured effect. What is sg_lyrical?
sg_lyrical is a contest group. Don't expect to win at first, I'm still struggling after months lol, but it is a great place to get ideas. Basically, you are given song lyrics and then you have to make an icon that goes with at least 3 consecutive words. You also get to vote. It is an excellent way to learn how to do things, as you see really good icons.This is a great website for resources too http://hybrid-genesis.net/ Just be careful about making sure you credit this lady. She also does things to sell, website layouts, artwork, brushes etc. But she is very kind and lets us have freebies as well. All she asks is that we don't claim her work as our own. I haven't seen Stargate art on her site though.
I was just looking through the sg_lyrical page. Seems like lots of talented computer artists are there. I'd feel very intimidated. Although I know a shit load about Photoshop and how to use it, I don't always know what I want to achieve through an icon and how to make it look deep, without just looking over/underdone. You know what I mean?So do you have to ask to join or anything? What do they do, competition sort of things with the song lyrics? Sounds like fun.If you're online, why don't you go onto MSN Messenger so we can chat! lol

Yes you can, just click on the default icon in user info. And it is good to have a default icon - because then when you reply from your email, like I am it shows up in the email.

BTW - where do you keep your icons for your LJ? Usually there is an icon on your user info page. You can have up to 3 icons for free on LJ for use.
